ChatLibs - How to Play:

General Play:

To start a chatlib you must be a member, guests may play, but only members can start a chatlib.

To select a pre-made chatlib from the menu, type:

chatlibs:menu

To select a random chatlib, type:

chatlibs:random

To start a custom chatlib (to write one) type:

chatlibs:TITLE

Where TITLE is the name of the chatlib. If you wanted to start a chatlib about "monkeys" you might type "chatlibs:Monkey Business"

Now you will get a "long form" post box that says "ChatLib Entry Screen". Just type in your chatlib with the questions inside |'s (You may use |, \, or /, to seperate your words). It's easier to look at an example than it is to explain - here is a funny one I call "Stereo Instructions":

In order to set up your new stereo, you will first need to remove the |plural noun| from the box and plug them in to the |noun|. Once you have them plugged in, |verb| the power cord in to the |object| and flip the switch.

When you are tired, the full rich sounds of Classical music like |a musician or group| will caress your |plural body part| and lull you into a relaxed state. If you are wound up, crank up some |person's name| and feel the |adjective| power of this 400 watt stereo |noun|.

When you enter this, chatlibs will first collect a "plural noun", then a "noun", then a "verb", etc.

Once all the words have been requested, the 'play' buttons will deactivate. Once all the words have been filled in, the chatlib will display.

Idiot Proofing:

In the event someone clicks on the 'play' button and doesn't type anything, the chatlib will be stuck. When a user clicks on 'play' it marks the word "pending" and awaits their response. If they don't do anything, you can reset the chatlib and offer the remaining words again by typing:

chatlibs:remind

If nobody is paying attention at all, and you decide not to play - you can kill the chatlib by typing:

chatlibs:kill

Advanced Options:

You can also use the same "answer" in your text without asking for it multiple times. This is a little tricky, you have to count your questions starting with 0. Take a look at this example:

Mary had a little lamb...

|person's name| had a little |animal| who's |body part| was |color| as |noun|,
everywhere that xxWORD0xx went the xxWORD1xx was sure to go.

Here you want to use the same |person's name| in two places, since it is the first question in the chatlib, it can be addressed as xxWORD0xx, the |animal| would be xxWORD1xx, and |body part| would be xxWORD2xx so on and so fouth...
