Maximum Concurrent Chatters (limit of users per room at one time):

DreamChat has been designed to handle as much traffic as your web site requires. DreamChat Lite, our free version, allows up to 10 users to chat simultaneously. DreamChat "Full" can allow up to 50 users in the chat room. DreamChat Pro offers a totally private custom chat solution for up to 500 simultaneous users. DreamChat Enterprise Edition offers a completely private community membership system and will support thousands of users.

Avatar Gallery:

DreamChat Lite rooms include access to our "Popular" avatars category including 80 different avatars. DreamChat versions Full, Pro, and Enterprise allow access to our complete Avatar Gallery with over 500 avatars to choose from, as well as the ability to upload custom avatars. DreamChat Community Members also have access to the full Avatar Gallery.

Skin Set Selections for the DreamChat Interface (predefined):

DreamChat is designed on a "template" system. This means that we can offer multiple styles of graphical user interfaces or "skinsets". Room administrators can change the entire look of their chat room at the click of a mouse. Creative room administrators will be pleased to know that you can even design your own, original interface with our Skinset Development Kit.

IMPORTANT: All DreamChat 3.0 skinsets work with MS Internet Explorer web browsers (PC based only) . If a user is using Netscape (PC version), they will get a default version of DreamChat that is compatible with their computer. DreamChat supports Macintosh based browsers using either Netscape or Explorer, but due to limitiations in the Macintosh versions of the browsers, we cannot support skinsets on Macintosh systems at this time.

Browser / Resolution Detection:

DreamChat uses a combination of Java and CGI to automatically detect the user's browser type, version, and display resolution. It then spawns a custom interface for the users screen / browser combination. This ability allows us to totally customize the chat interface to best fit the user.

Public and Private Discussion Boards:

DreamChat's discussion board is a threaded message base system that works within your chat room's skinset and allows you or your users to post public messages and pictures. DreamChat's versions of Full, Pro and Enterprise include a "private" discussion board feature with administration abilites.

Private Messaging / Ignore Feature:

Chat room users may send a private message to another user that will not appear to anyone else. Chat room users may also choose to ignore a particular user in a chat room.

Private Message Bases or Message Base Sharing:

Message base sharing allows a room administrator to select between a private or shared message base.

Private Mode allows for a completely private room. Chat users must enter your room from your site, or the DreamChat Nexus index.

Shared Mode allows the administrator to "share" his message base with other chat rooms of similar interest. For example, if you wanted to start a "Star Wars" chat room, you could "share" a public "Sci-Fi" message base. When users enter chat from any other site which shares the public "Sci-Fi" room, they will also be in your room. This feature allows a new chat room to be created with people already talking in it. Once the site has enough of its own chat "regulars" the administrator can switch to a private mode.

Spawn Private Chat Room:

With this ability, chatters may "create" a temporary chat room to have a "private" conversation and invite other chatters to participate. This feature is only available for Community Members.

File & Photo Message Attachments:

DreamChat offers the ability to include a File or Graphic Attachment with each message. This allows chat users to include photos with their messages. Graphic attachments are uploaded through the DreamChat browser interface and are included with the message as an attachment icon. File/Graphic attachments are represented as a small photo icon, that when clicked on opens up in a new window.

Sound Bytes & Sound Attachments:

DreamChat offers the ability to include a Sound File Attachment with each message. This allows chat users to include recordings in their messages. Sound attachments are uploaded through the DreamChat browser interface and are included with the message as an attachment icon. Sound files appear as a small speaker, that when clicked on - plays the sound file. DreamChat also offers a selection of predefined "sound bytes" that are available for use in any chat room.

3-Mode Selectable Message Filtering:

Message base filtering automatically screens obscene language from your chat room. Three modes of message filtering are available.

1. None - No message filtering at all.

2. Normal - Public messages are filtered.

3. All - Public and Private messages are filtered (Child Safe).

In addition to these modes, custom filter databases may be defined by the room administrator (available in Full or Pro version only).

Browse/View User Profiles Database:

DreamChat offers a Community Membership database system in which any chat room user may browse through and view individual user profiles.

Room Owner Administration Panel:

All DreamChat chat rooms are managed through a room administration panel. Through this interface, room owners may preform a number of administrative functions such as updating chat room information, changing room filtering and choosing their "log in" box.

Automatic HTML Code Generator:

DreamChat's chat rooms are easy to add to your web site! Since all of our chat solutions (except for Enterprise) include hosting on DreamChat's specially configured web server, you will not have to download or install anything - simply "cut and paste" your automatically generated HTML code from your administrator panel and place it in your web site's code wherever you want it.

Enhanced Room Operator Functions:

Upon having a Community Membership or renting a DreamChat Full chat room, a number of enhanced options becomes available that non-community members do not have. These options provide all of the standard Operator type functions such as Kick, Ban, and Promote other members to "Operator" status. Our enhanced Security features even allow operators to pull the IP# of anyone in their chat room.

Unique Chat Name and Avatar / User Profile with Photo Album:

DreamChat offers individual "User Profiles" with a DreamChat Community Membership. A membership gives the DreamChat user the ability to reserve a unique "Chat Name" and upload a unique "Avatar". A membership also allows the chat user to upload multiple photos to their member "Photo Album" and add optional user profile information that can be accessed by all chat users. Once a "Chat Name" is taken, it cannot be used by anyone else throughout the DreamChat system (as long as the membership is renewed each year).

Message Base Publishing:

The "Message Base Publishing" option (available with the Full version only) allows a Room Owner to publish their own "shared" message base (topic) with other chat rooms. A published message base is controlled by the Room Owner directly. This option is available on an "apply for" basis only . You will need to contact the DreamChat WebMaster for more details.

Administrator Room Customization:

DreamChat versions "Full", "Pro" and "Enterprise" allow Room Administrators to customize their chat rooms by uploading their own graphic room logo.

Custom Avatar Gallery:

DreamChat allows Room Administrators to create a customized Avatar (graphical chat icon) gallery. Room Admins can choose from hundreds of pre-made Avatars or upload their own unique Avatars into their own private gallery (not available with Lite version).

Custom Filter Databases and Customized Filter Actions:

In addition to the preset "3-Mode Message Filtering" modes, Custom Filter Databases may be defined by the room administrator of Full, Pro and Enterprise version chat rooms. Editing the filter database is as simple as typing in the words that you don't want to appear in your chat room.

If a user types a prohibited word, Custom Filter Actions may be defined to automatically kick out the user, or even display his IP number along with a warning message.

Chat Transcripts (message logging & viewing):

DreamChat administrators may view a message log of all the traffic in their chat room. The log may be read, downloaded, or cleared at any time (not available with Lite version).

Traffic and Hit Reports:

DreamChat administrators can view traffic stats such as chat hits, discussion hits, user signups, room signups and affiliate commissions.

Voice Chat:

DreamChat Members may access our Voice Chat Server. Each full version chat room has its own private voice chat channel.

User Customized Skin Sets:

DreamChat was designed using a "template" system in order to support user Customized Skin Sets. Creative room administrators will be pleased to know that you will be able to design your own, original interface using our DreamChat "Skins Development Kit" (available for free download - works with Full and Pro versions of DreamChat).

Banner Advertising Requirement -or- Redirected (Customized) Banners:

Our FREE version, DreamChat Lite, requires the use of our standard advertisement banners in each free chat room.

DreamChat versions "Full", "Pro" and "Enterprise" do not have any advertising banner requirements. Instead, a the room owner is given the choice of "Redirecting" the banner window to the URL of their choice or automatically displaying DreamChat Banners at a discount of 15% off the regular chat room rental price.

Redirected Banners allows you to "customize" the banner window of your chat room, instead of running DreamChat's banners. This means you can redirect the window contents to your own designated link (i.e. a banner system, graphics, a link menu, a flash presentation, etc.). Internet Affiliate Program banners may also be added for potential revenues for individual DreamChat Room Owners. This is an advanced option and requires adequate HTML knowledge.

Unique DreamChat Domain Name:

This is optional for DreamChat Pro and Enterprise versions only. This basically gives the Room Owner a unique "DreamChat" vanity domain name such as "yourroom.dreamchat.com".

Private Membership System:

DreamChat Pro features a completely private membership system supporting hundreds of users and maintains a totally separate "private" database of users. DreamChat Enterprise Edition offers the same features of Pro, but can support thousands of users.

DreamChat Affiliate Program:

DreamChat Lite and Full includes an affiliate program where room owners will make a commission on any DreamChat product that is sold through your site. You will be able to track your commissions through your Room Administrator panel.

DreamChat Community Membership:

Any chat user may join the DreamChat Community by "registering" their chat account with DreamChat for a small fee. Membership benefits include a Personal Profile Page with Photo, a "Reserved" User Name, a Unique Avatar (graphic or photo), and enhanced Room Administrator/Operator abilities.

Nexus Community Listing:

DreamChat Lite chat rooms are automatically included in our DreamChat "Nexus" community system. This is a great way to attract new users to your web site since chatters from around the world will be able to access your chat room. The Chat Nexus is optional for DreamChat Full version room owners but mandatory for Lite room owners.

Free Community Memberships:

The Full version of DreamChat includes 3 free Community Memberships (for Room Owner and 2 friends). DreamChat owners may sell additional memberships for a commission or purchase additional memberships at a reduced cost.
